Porcelain Manufacture

The Royal Porcelain Manufactory Nymphenburg

NYMPHENBURG is the porcelain manufactory of the Bavarian crown. The noble art of porcelain-making has been cultivated here since its founding in 1747. Even now, manu factum means in Nymphenburg what it always did - completely handmade, using techniques passed on and preserved from generation to generation. This is the only way to assure the unrivalled finess, subtlety and brilliance of porcelain that Nymphenburg's global reputation is based on. The manufactory's master workshops produce avantgarde and tailor-made designs from four centuries, created right up to the present day by the most distinguished artists, architects and designers.

The porcelain workshops were moved to the north wing in 1761. Thanks to successful cooperation with renowned artists of their time, Nymphenburg designs have always be highly coveted. The Nymphenburg range includes an unbelievable 40,000 designs.

The history

or over 266 years the products at Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg have stood both for master craftsmanship and artistic mastery. Porcelain dinner services, figurines and objects of the greatest purity have been produced at this one factory at Nymphenburg Palace with broadly unchanging methods since the 18th century.

Today the master workshops at Porzellan Manufaktur continue to produce distinctive customised designs ahead of their time, created by well-known artists, architects and designers covering four centuries.
