The Schleißheim Palace
The grounds at Schleißheim Palace represent one of Europe's most important baroque gardens. The ensemble comprising the Neues Schloss, Altes Schloss, Lustheim Palace and the extensive baroque gardens is unique because of the palace architecture and landscaped gardens dating from the 17th and 18th centuries.

The actual Schleißheim Palace, the 'New Palace' in the middle of the group of three, has always been a popular attraction with visitors. The prestigious and ornate rooms are true to the original and can be visited together with an art gallery displaying baroque masterpieces. Max Emanuel built Schloss Lusthiem as a summer palace to celebrate his wedding.
Since 1971 it has housed a famous collection of Meißen porcelain. The old palace at Schleißheim was unfortunately destroyed in the Second World War. Since being rebuilt in 1986, it is now home to two outstanding collections belonging to the Bavarian National Museum.
